Malvina and Filippo Renault-Antonelli, members of the Scaramouche Duo since 1992, were trained in Paris, Vienna, and at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena.


The longevity of the duo added to their talent a maturity and complicity that have been constantly acclaimed by critics: "The Scaramouche Duo competes with the Orchestra” (Le Monde de la Musique).

 

They have already performed in Paris at Salle Gaveau, Salle Pleyel, and Salle Cortot, in numerous festivals in Riom, Nice, Mulhouse, Strasbourg, Colmar, Nancy, Brussels, London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Cambridge, Exeter, Bologna, Venice, Naples, Capri, Syracuse, Lecco, Ferrara, Forli, Vienna, Budapest, Linares, Granada, Moscow, Dubrovnik, Cairo Opera House, United Arab Emirates, Barhein, etc.


Concerned with the music of their time, Duo Scaramouche has created several concertos for two pianos and orchestra, and has made recordings for the BBC, RAI, ORTBF, Hungarian National Radio, Radio Croatia, France Télévisions, France Musique, France 3, Mezzo, etc.

 

Their repertoire is very diverse. Their interest in jazz has led them to include works by Joplin, Gershwin and Bernstein in their programs.


The duo created their own label with live recordings to preserve the spontaneity of the concert. The CD featuring works by Brahms, Ravel, Milhaud was awarded the "Four Stars" of Le Monde de la Musique for " his brilliance and flexibility but also with the fine nuances that characterize their playing".


The duo is also artistic director of various festivals throughout Europe. They regularly give masterclasses in Birmingham, Stavanger and at the International Duo Piano Forum they founded.
